CHAI TEA WITH STAR ANISE AND HONEY

INGREDIENTS

  • 125 g wholemeal flour (spelt, oat or wheat)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 30 g walnuts
  • 30 g almonds
  • 30 g pine nuts
  • 90 g butter
  • 80 g dates
  • 50 g honey
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder
  • Pinch of salt

METHOD

  1. Chop the dates. Grind the walnuts and almonds in a mortar and pestle.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, honey, butter, nuts (set some aside for decoration), cinnamon and salt. Make a dough with your hands and leave to rest for 20 minutes in the fridge with cling film, so that the dough takes shape.
  3. We make small balls, flatten them into biscuit shapes and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Put some nuts on top of our biscuits.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes at 190º. They should be lightly browned.
  5. Remove from the oven and, being careful not to break them, put them on a wire rack to harden. Leave to cool and ready to eat for the week.
