CHAI TEA WITH STAR ANISE AND HONEY
INGREDIENTS
- 125 g wholemeal flour (spelt, oat or wheat)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 30 g walnuts
- 30 g almonds
- 30 g pine nuts
- 90 g butter
- 80 g dates
- 50 g honey
- ½ tsp cinnamon powder
- Pinch of salt
METHOD
- Chop the dates. Grind the walnuts and almonds in a mortar and pestle.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, honey, butter, nuts (set some aside for decoration), cinnamon and salt. Make a dough with your hands and leave to rest for 20 minutes in the fridge with cling film, so that the dough takes shape.
- We make small balls, flatten them into biscuit shapes and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Put some nuts on top of our biscuits.
- Bake for 10 minutes at 190º. They should be lightly browned.
- Remove from the oven and, being careful not to break them, put them on a wire rack to harden. Leave to cool and ready to eat for the week.
