In addition to honey, bees produce many other bee products, which have different uses:
POLLEN
THE BEES COLLECT IT FROM FLOWERS AND CRUSH IT WITH HONEY TO FORM LITTLE BALLS THAT THEY TAKE BACK TO THEIR HIVES AS A RESERVE OF PROTEINS, FATS, VITAMINS, AND MINERALS. IT IS USUALLY CONSUMED ON ITS OWN, BUT CAN ALSO BE ADDED TO JUICES, SMOOTHIES, SALADS, AND PASTRIES.
ROYAL JELLY
THIS IS THE LIQUID USED BY BEES TO FEED THEIR YOUNG. EACH HIVE PRODUCES ONLY 250 G PER PERIOD, WHICH IS WHAT MAKES THIS PRODUCT SO PRECIOUS. IT IS COLLECTED DIRECTLY FROM THE HIVES THAT ARE RAISING QUEENS, HENCE ITS NAME.
PROPOLIS
THESE ARE RESINS PRODUCED BY TREES TO PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM ATTACK BY BACTERIA, FUNGI, AND INSECTS. THE BEES COLLECT IT AND MIX IT WITH WAX TO SANITISE THE HIVES.
WAX
THIS IS A GREASE SECRETED BY BEES TO FORM THE WALLS OF CELLS AND HONEYCOMBS.
